A shoe designed to keep your body electrically connected to the Earth, practically reproducing the natural connection that occurs when barefoot.
In a conventional shoe, the rubber sole and other insulating materials create a barrier between your body and the ground. A grounding shoe eliminates that barrier through conductive materials that allow for electrical continuity from the Earth to your feet, obtaining all the benefits of grounding by allowing the free flow of electrons.

At earthies, this connection runs throughout the entire shoe: it begins in the conductive rubber sole, passes through the midsole via pure silver threads, and reaches the insole with EarthLite technology, whose silver surface covers the entire sole of the foot. This is how we improve upon the contact you would have barefoot, but with your feet protected and shod.

We didn't invent the connection; we just removed the barrier from footwear.

The main difference is that normal shoes electrically insulate us from the ground. Your earthies are designed to do exactly the opposite.

For a connection to exist, you need three things:

- a grounded surface

- a a continuous conductive path (your earthies)

- good contact between the two.

Walking barefoot on natural surfaces puts your body in direct electrical contact with the earth, something that conventional footwear (with rubber or plastic soles) completely blocks. earthies seeks to restore that connection without giving up wearing shoes in your daily life.

Yes, they are synonyms. "Grounding" and "earthing" describe the same practice: electrical contact between your body and the earth. In Spain, "grounding" is more commonly used; in English, you will also see "earthing."

No. They are everyday footwear, not electrical protective equipment (PPE). If you work in environments with electrical hazards, always use the approved safety footwear and equipment required for your job.

No. The rise of grounding has led some brands to use the term as a gimmick with very basic solutions, such as piercing a conventional shoe with a small copper rivet. That contact point is too small: on real ground, for all practical purposes, it acts as an insulator.

For an effective connection, we need to maximize the conductive surface area. That is why we use a full conductive rubber sole, capable of taking advantage of a much larger surface and maintaining the connection throughout the entire step.

But the sole is only the beginning. Conductivity works like a chain: if just one of the layers offers too much resistance, it limits the entire system. An excellent conductive sole is of little use if the midsole or insole then interrupts the path to our foot.

earthies have been designed precisely to avoid this. The conductive sole maximizes contact with the ground, the silver threads maintain continuity through the shoe, and the highly conductive, silver-coated EarthLite insole distributes the connection across the entire sole of the foot. Each layer has been designed as part of the same conductive system.

And we apply the same philosophy to the rest of the shoe: barefoot construction, premium materials, and 100% genuine leather, avoiding synthetic plastic-derived substitutes often marketed as “vegan leather.”

We didn't want to add grounding as a gimmick. We wanted to design a shoe around it.

For barefoot footwear, it's important to measure your foot as it may differ from your usual size.

If you are between two sizes, choose the larger one: as it's a barefoot design with a wide toe box, it's better to have some room than for your foot to be compressed.

Yes, they are designed for daily use. If you are used to conventional footwear, we recommend a gradual transition so that your foot can adapt to the zero drop and greater freedom of movement.

• You can start by wearing them for short periods and gradually increase the time each day.
• Or use our transition insoles with a 4 mm drop for better adaptation.
