Grounding: earthing
Reconnect your body with the Earth's energy
For thousands of years we walked in direct contact with the earth.
Today, without realizing it, we live isolated from it.
What is grounding?
Grounding: reconnecting with the Earth
When your feet make direct contact with the ground, your body absorbs free electrons that help balance it. This natural process, called grounding or earthing, is supported by scientific studies that show benefits such as improved rest, less stress, and reduced inflammation.
Conventional footwear, with its rubber soles, acts as an insulator and severs that connection. earthies is designed to avoid precisely that.
Why do conventional shoes interfere?
-
earthies
Sole with conductive material.
Allows the passage of electrons.
Real connection to the earth, without the need to be barefoot. -
-
Conventional footwear
Synthetic rubber sole.
Acts as a complete insulator.
Your body remains disconnected, regardless of the ground you walk on.
Grounding: returning home, step by step
Walking connected to the Earth is not just a physical act. Studies show that it can impact multiple bodily functions. Here are some of the benefits that inspire us most to continue creating earthies.
Benefits of grounding
-
Reduction of inflammation and pain
Contact with the Earth helps reduce chronic inflammation and alleviate muscle and joint discomfort.
-
Improves rest
Regulates sleep rhythms, promoting deeper and more restorative rest.
-
Stress Regulation
Helps balance the nervous system, promoting greater calm and mental clarity.
-
Accelerates muscle recovery
Reduces muscle fatigue and damage after exercise, promoting faster recovery.
-
Improves blood flow
It promotes more efficient circulation and better oxygenation of the body.
-
Powerful antioxidant effect
Helps neutralize excess free radicals, protecting cells from aging.
-
Improves immune response
Contributes to modulating the immune system, strengthening natural defenses.
-
Wound Healing
Promotes the skin's natural repair processes, helping it to heal more effectively.

Grounding FAQs
How long do you have to practice grounding to notice benefits?
It varies from person to person. Some people notice changes (better rest, less tension) in just a few days; for others, the effects appear after several weeks of regular practice. As with any wellness habit, consistency is key.
Is it the same as walking barefoot?
EXPLAIN FURTHER and WHY!!
The effect is equivalent on conductive surfaces (earth, grass, wet sand, unsealed concrete), although the exact intensity depends on skin contact and moisture. [Here goes conductivity measurement — Ohms or % vs. bare skin — pending manufacturer].
How do I get the grounding effect without going barefoot?
earthies incorporates a conductive material in the sole that creates a continuous electrical path between your skin and the ground, just as if you were barefoot. This way, you can go about your day (work, walk, run errands) while maintaining that connection.
What surfaces does grounding work on?
Only on natural or conductive surfaces: grass, soil, sand, rock, water, or unsealed concrete. Does not work on asphalt, wood, carpet, vinyl, or floors with varnish/sealant — these insulate like conventional footwear.
How do I know my earthies are actually grounding me?
The conductivity of each pair is checked during manufacturing. If you want to check it yourself, you can perform a simple test with a household multimeter: with the shoe on a conductive surface, the resistance should drop significantly compared to conventional footwear.
Are grounding and barefoot the same thing?
No. Grounding is the electrical connection to the earth; barefoot is the design that respects the natural movement of the foot (wide toe box, flat sole, flexible). Our ORIGIN model combines both: barefoot in its design, grounding in its material.
Is grounding safe?
Yes. Grounding does not involve any risk: it is a natural and very low intensity electrical balancing phenomenon, the same that occurs when walking barefoot. There are no active electrical components or current generated by the shoe.
